Konga’s CEO, Shola Adekoya has announced his exit from the ecommerce company. The announcement was made via a tweet from his personal handle on Twitter. The tweet read;
Over to you Nick. Wishing you and @shopkonga all the best as I join the Konga Alumni. Thanks to all the current and ex-Konga staff that gave me their best towards building a great Konga while I was at the helm of affairs
Formerly Chief Operating Officer at Konga, Shola took over as the interim CEO until the board decided on a new CEO, but he apparently performed well and stayed on as no replacement was named in the time leading up to his resignation.
No reason for the exit was given in the tweet, neither was any animosity projected. The only information rendered was ‘Nick’; the new CEO.
Nick Imudia is the immediate past Regional DirectorTCL/Alcatel responsible for Nigeria and Central Africa Operations. Before then, Nick was the Managing Director of Nokia in West and Central Africa.
Last month, The Zinox Group acquired Konga in a deal that was as shocking as it was shrouded in mystery. As ownership has changed hands, lots of leadership shakeups are expected.
Even though at the time a source at The Zinox Group said that Konga will not be merged with Yudala — their existing ecommerce platform –, that it will run independently, a change in direction always signals new leaders.
